3 Ny vehivavy anti-panahy koa anaro hitondra tena toy izay miendrika ny olona masina, tsy ho mpanendrikendrika, tsy ho andevozin'ny divay be, ho mpampianatra ny zavatra tsara,

4 mba hampianarany ny vehivavy tanora fanahy ho tia ny vadiny, ho tia ny zanany,

5 hahonon-tena, ho madio toe-panahy, hiasa ao an-tranony, ho tsara fanahy, hanaiky ny vadiny, mba tsy hitenenana ratsy* ny tenin'Andriamanitra. [* Gr. hanaovana blasfemia; izahao Mat. 9,3]

6 Ny lehilahy tanora fanahy koa anaro hahonon-tena;

7 ka amin'ny zavatra rehetra dia asehoy ny tenanao ho fianarana ny asa tsara, amin'ny fampianaranao maneho ny tsi-faharatsiana, ny fahamaotinana,

8 ny teny tsy misy kilema*, izay tsy azo tsinina, mba ho menatra izay manohitra; satria tsy hisy ratsy hitenenany anareo. [* Gr. salama]

9 Ny mpanompo koa dia anaro hanaiky ny tompony ka hanao izay sitrapony amin'ny zavatra rehetra, fa tsy hamalivaly,

10 tsy hangala-tetỳ, fa haneho izay toe-panahy mahatoky indrindra, mba hampahamendrika ny fampianaran'Andriamanitra, Mpamonjy antsika, amin'ny zavatra rehetra.

11 Fa efa miseho ny fahasoavan'Andriamanitra, izay famonjena ny olona rehetra,

12 mampianatra antsika handà izay toe-panahy tsy araka an'Andriamanitra sy ny filan'izao tontolo izao ary ho velona amin'ny onony sy ny marina ary ny toe-panahy araka an'Andriamanitra amin'izao fiainana ankehitriny izao,

13 miandry ny fanantenana mahafinaritra sy ny fisehoan'ny voninahitr'Andriamanitra lehibe sady Mpamonjy antsika, dia Jesosy Kristy*, [* Na: Andriamanitra lehibe sy Jesosy Kristy, Mpamonjy antsika]

14 Izay nanolotra ny tenany hamonjy antsika, mba hanavotany antsika ho afaka amin'ny ota rehetra, sy hanadiovany izay olona ho an'ny tenany, sady ho mazoto indrindra amin'ny asa tsara izany.

15 Izany no lazao sy ananaro ary andrarao amin'ny fahefana rehetra. Aza avela hisy hanao tsinontsinona anao.

Chapitre 2

2:1 But say the things which fit sound doctrine, 2:2 that older men should be temperate, sensible, sober minded, sound in faith, in love, and in patience: 2:3 and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good; 2:4 that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 2:5 to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that God’s word may not be blasphemed. 2:6 Likewise, exhort the younger men to be sober minded; 2:7 in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in your teaching showing integrity, seriousness, incorruptibility, 2:8 and soundness of speech that can’t be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us. 2:9 Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting; 2:10 not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things. 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 2:12 instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world; 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ; 2:14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works. 2:15 Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise you.

Chapitre 2
1 Pour toi, dis les choses qui sont conformes à la saine doctrine. 2 Dis que les vieillards doivent être sobres, honnêtes, modérés, sains dans la foi, dans la charité, dans la patience. 3 Dis que les femmes âgées doivent aussi avoir l'extérieur qui convient à la sainteté, n'être ni médisantes, ni adonnées au vin; qu'elles doivent donner de bonnes instructions, 4 dans le but d'apprendre aux jeunes femmes à aimer leurs maris et leurs enfants, 5 à être retenues, chastes, occupées aux soins domestiques, bonnes, soumises à leurs maris, afin que la parole de Dieu ne soit pas blasphémée. 6 Exhorte de même les jeunes gens à être modérés, 7 te montrant toi-même à tous égards un modèle de bonnes oeuvres, et donnant un enseignement pur, digne, 8 une parole saine, irréprochable, afin que l'adversaire soit confus, n'ayant aucun mal à dire de nous. 9 Exhorte les serviteurs à être soumis à leurs maîtres, à leur plaire en toutes choses, à n'être point contredisants, 10 à ne rien dérober, mais à montrer toujours une parfaite fidélité, afin de faire honorer en tout la doctrine de Dieu notre Sauveur. 11 Car la grâce de Dieu, source de salut pour tous les hommes, a été manifestée. 12 Elle nous enseigne à renoncer à l'impiété et aux convoitises mondaines, et à vivre dans le siècle présent selon la sagesse, la justice et la piété, 13 en attendant la bienheureuse espérance, et la manifestation de la gloire du grand Dieu et de notre Sauveur Jésus-Christ, 14 qui s'est donné lui-même pour nous, afin de nous racheter de toute iniquité, et de se faire un peuple qui lui appartienne, purifié par lui et zélé pour les bonnes oeuvres. 15 Dis ces choses, exhorte, et reprends, avec une pleine autorité. Que personne ne te méprise.
