1 [Ny tsy mahamety ny miantoka olona sy ny hakamoana sy ny fitaka sy ny avonavona; ary ny zavatra fito loha izay halan'i Jehovah] Anaka, raha niantoka ny namanao ianao Ary nandray tanana hiantoka ny hafa,

2 Ka voafandriky ny teny naloaky ny vavanao ianao Sady voasingotry ny teny naloaky ny vavanao,

3 Dia izao no ataovy, anaka, ka afaho ny tenanao (Satria efa mby eo an-tanan'ny namanao ianao): Andeha mihohoka sy mifona mafy amin'ny namanao.

4 Aza avela hatory akory ny masonao, Ary aza avela hilondolondo ny hodimasonao.

5 Afaho ny tenanao toy ny gazela* miala amin'izay mihazona azy, Ary toy ny voron-kely miala amin'ny tanan'ny mpamandrika.[Izahao 2 Sam. ii.18]

6 Mandehana any amin'ny vitsika, ry ilay malaina; Diniho ny fanaony, ka mba hendre;

7 Tsy manana komandy ireny, Na mpifehy, na mpanapaka,

8 Nefa mamory ny haniny raha fahavaratra izy, Ary manangona ny fihinany amin'ny fararano.

9 Mandra-pahoviana no mbola handry ihany ianao, ry ilay malaina? Rahoviana no hifoha amin'ny torimasonao ianao?

10 Mbola hatory kely ihany, mbola ho renoka kely ihany, Ary mbola hanohon-tanana kely hatory,

11 Dia ho tonga toy ny lehilahy mimaona hamely ny alahelonao, Ary ny fahantranao ho toy ny jiolahy.

12 Ny olona tena ratsy fanahy sy mpanao ratsy Dia ilay mandehandeha manao vava ratsy,

13 Izay mami-maso sy manao famantarana amin'ny tongony Ary manao baiko amin'ny rantsan-tànany;

14 Fahafetsena no ao am-pony, Mihevi-dratsy mandrakariva izy Sady mamafy ady.

15 Ary noho izany dia ho avy tampoka kosa ny loza hanjo azy; Ho torotoro tampoka izy, ka tsy hisy fahasitranana.

16 Izao enina izao no halan'i Jehovah, Eny, fito no ataony ho fahavetavetana:

17 Ny maso miavonavona, ny lela fandainga, Ary ny tanana mandatsa-drà marina,

18 Ny fo mamoron-tsain-dratsy, Ny tongotra malaky mihazakazaka hanao ratsy,

19 Ny mamoaka lainga ho vavolombelona tsy marina, Ary ny mamafy ady ao amin'ny rahalahy.

20 [Fananarana hankatò tsara ny ana-dray aman-dreny mba hifady ny fifangajangana] Anaka, tandremo ny didin-drainao, Ary aza mahafoy ny lalàn-dreninao.

21 Afatory amin'ny fonao mandrakariva ireo, Ary afehezo eo am-bozonao,

22 Raha mandeha ianao, dia hitari-dalana anao ireo; Raha mandry ianao, dia hiambina anao; Ary raha mifoha ianao, dia hamelona eritreritra anao.

23 Fa jiro ny didy, ary fanazavana ny lalàna, Ary lalan'aina ny anatra famaizana,

24 Hiarovana anao amin'ny vehivavy ratsy fanahy, Ary amin'ny fandroboan'ny lelan'ny vahiny janga*. [Heb. lelam-bahiny]

25 Aoka ny fonao tsy haniry ny hatsaran-tarehiny; Ary aoka tsy hahazo anao amin'ny hodimasony izy.

26 Fa noho ny vehivavy mpijangajanga no mila tsy hananan'ny lehilahy sombi-mofo, Ary ny amin'ny vadin'ny olona no mihaza ny aina soa.

27 Mahatondra afo ao an-tratran'akanjony va ny olona, Ka tsy ho may ny akanjony?

28 Misy mahadia vain'afo va, Ka tsy ho may ny tongony?

29 Dia toy izany izay mankamin'ny vadin'ny namany; Tsy maintsy hampijalina izay mikasika azy.

30 Tsy avelan'ny olona ho afa-maina ny mpangalatra, Raha maka zavatra hahavoky ny tenany izy, na dia noana aza;

31 Fa* raha azo izy, dia hampanoneriny fito heny Ka hanome ny fananana rehetra ao an-tranony.[Na: Ny olona tsy manome tsiny ny mpangalatra, noana; Nefa]

32 Izay mijangajanga amin'ny vehivavy dia tsy ampy saina; Izay ta-hanimba tena no manao izany.

33 Voakapoka sy afa-baraka izy Ary tsy ho afaka amin'ny tondro-molotra.

34 Fa ny fahasaro-piaro dia mampirehitra ny fahatezeran-dehilahy, Koa tsy hamindra fo izy amin'ny andro hamaliany.

35 Tsy handray vola ho enti-manalady* akory izy, Ary tsy hety, na dia omenao fanambatambazana be aza.[Heb. avotra]

Chapitre  6
6:1 My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor,
if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger;
6:2 You are trapped by the words of your mouth.
You are ensnared with the words of your mouth.
6:3 Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself,
since you have come into the hand of your neighbor.
Go, humble yourself.
Press your plea with your neighbor.
6:4 Give no sleep to your eyes,
nor slumber to your eyelids.
6:5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
6:6 Go to the ant, you sluggard.
Consider her ways, and be wise;
6:7 which having no chief, overseer, or ruler,
6:8 provides her bread in the summer,
and gathers her food in the harvest.
6:9 How long will you sleep, sluggard?
When will you arise out of your sleep?
6:10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to sleep:
6:11 so your poverty will come as a robber,
and your scarcity as an armed man.
6:12 A worthless person, a man of iniquity,
is he who walks with a perverse mouth;
6:13 who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet,
who motions with his fingers;
6:14 in whose heart is perverseness,
who devises evil continually,
who always sows discord.
6:15 Therefore his calamity will come suddenly.
He will be broken suddenly, and that without remedy.
6:16 There are six things which Yahweh hates;
yes, seven which are an abomination to him:
6:17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood;
6:18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are swift in running to mischief,
6:19 a false witness who utters lies,
and he who sows discord among brothers.
6:20 My son, keep your father’s commandment,
and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching.
6:21 Bind them continually on your heart.
Tie them around your neck.
6:22 When you walk, it will lead you.
When you sleep, it will watch over you.
When you awake, it will talk with you.
6:23 For the commandment is a lamp,
and the law is light.
Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,
6:24 to keep you from the immoral woman,
from the flattery of the wayward wife’s tongue.
6:25 Don’t lust after her beauty in your heart,
neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.
6:26 For a prostitute reduces you to a piece of bread. The adulteress hunts for your precious life.
6:27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap,
and his clothes not be burned?
6:28 Or can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be scorched?
6:29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife.
Whoever touches her will not be unpunished.
6:30 Men don’t despise a thief, if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry:
6:31 but if he is found, he shall restore seven times.
He shall give all the wealth of his house.
6:32 He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul.
6:33 He will get wounds and dishonor.
His reproach will not be wiped away.
6:34 For jealousy arouses the fury of the husband.
He won’t spare in the day of vengeance.
6:35 He won’t regard any ransom, neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.

1 Mon fils, si tu as cautionné ton prochain, Si tu t'es engagé pour autrui, 2 Si tu es enlacé par les paroles de ta bouche, Si tu es pris par les paroles de ta bouche, 3 Fais donc ceci, mon fils, dégage-toi, Puisque tu es tombé au pouvoir de ton prochain; Va, prosterne-toi, et fais des instances auprès de lui; 4 Ne donne ni sommeil à tes yeux, Ni assoupissement à tes paupières; 5 Dégage-toi comme la gazelle de la main du chasseur, Comme l'oiseau de la main de l'oiseleur. 6 Va vers la fourmi, paresseux; Considère ses voies, et deviens sage. 7 Elle n'a ni chef, Ni inspecteur, ni maître; 8 Elle prépare en été sa nourriture, Elle amasse pendant la moisson de quoi manger. 9 Paresseux, jusqu'à quand seras-tu couché? Quand te lèveras-tu de ton sommeil? 10 Un peu de sommeil, un peu d'assoupissement, Un peu croiser les mains pour dormir!... 11 Et la pauvreté te surprendra, comme un rôdeur, Et la disette, comme un homme en armes. 12 L'homme pervers, l'homme inique, Marche la fausseté dans la bouche; 13 Il cligne des yeux, parle du pied, Fait des signes avec les doigts; 14 La perversité est dans son coeur, Il médite le mal en tout temps, Il excite des querelles. 15 Aussi sa ruine arrivera-t-elle subitement; Il sera brisé tout d'un coup, et sans remède. 16 Il y a six choses que hait l'Éternel, Et même sept qu'il a en horreur; 17 Les yeux hautains, la langue menteuse, Les mains qui répandent le sang innocent, 18 Le coeur qui médite des projets iniques, Les pieds qui se hâtent de courir au mal, 19 Le faux témoin qui dit des mensonges, Et celui qui excite des querelles entre frères. 20 Mon fils, garde les préceptes de ton père, Et ne rejette pas l'enseignement de ta mère. 21 Lie-les constamment sur ton coeur, Attache-les à ton cou. 22 Ils te dirigeront dans ta marche, Ils te garderont sur ta couche, Ils te parleront à ton réveil. 23 Car le précepte est une lampe, et l'enseignement une lumière, Et les avertissements de la correction sont le chemin de la vie: 24 Ils te préserveront de la femme corrompue, De la langue doucereuse de l'étrangère. 25 Ne la convoite pas dans ton coeur pour sa beauté, Et ne te laisse pas séduire par ses paupières. 26 Car pour la femme prostituée on se réduit à un morceau de pain, Et la femme mariée tend un piège à la vie précieuse. 27 Quelqu'un mettra-t-il du feu dans son sein, Sans que ses vêtements s'enflamment? 28 Quelqu'un marchera-t-il sur des charbons ardents, Sans que ses pieds soient brûlés? 29 Il en est de même pour celui qui va vers la femme de son prochain: Quiconque la touche ne restera pas impuni. 30 On ne tient pas pour innocent le voleur qui dérobe Pour satisfaire son appétit, quand il a faim; 31 Si on le trouve, il fera une restitution au septuple, Il donnera tout ce qu'il a dans sa maison. 32 Mais celui qui commet un adultère avec une femme est dépourvu de sens, Celui qui veut se perdre agit de la sorte; 33 Il n'aura que plaie et ignominie, Et son opprobre ne s'effacera point. 34 Car la jalousie met un homme en fureur, Et il est sans pitié au jour de la vengeance; 35 Il n'a égard à aucune rançon, Et il est inflexible, quand même tu multiplierais les dons.
