5 Mahazoa fahendrena, mahazoa fahalalana; Fa aza hadinoina na ihemorana ny teny aloaky ny vavako.

6 Aza mahafoy azy, fa hiaro anao izy; Tiavo izy, dia hitandrina anao.

7 Ny voaloham-pahendrena dia izao*: Mahazoa fahendrena; Eny, lanio ny fanananao rehetra hamidy fahalalana tsara.[Na: Fahendrena no ambony indrindra]

8 Asandrato izy, dia hanandratra anao kosa Eny, hanome voninahitra anao izy, raha tananao.

9 Dia hasiany fehiloha mahafinaritra ny lohanao; Eny, satro-boninahitra tsara tarehy no homeny anao.

10 Anaka, mihainoa, ka raiso ny teniko; Dia hihamaro ny taona hiainanao.

11 Làlam-pahendrena no atoroko anao: Eny, mitarika anao amin'ny lalana mahitsy aho.

27 Aza mivily, na ho amin'ny ankavanana, na ho amin'ny ankavia; Esory amin'ny ratsy ny tongotrao.

Chapitre  4
4:1 Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction.
Pay attention and know understanding;
4:2 for I give you sound learning.
Don’t forsake my law.
4:3 For I was a son to my father,
tender and an only child in the sight of my mother.
4:4 He taught me, and said to me:
“Let your heart retain my words.
Keep my commandments, and live.
4:5 Get wisdom.
Get understanding.
Don’t forget, neither swerve from the words of my mouth.
4:6 Don’t forsake her, and she will preserve you.
Love her, and she will keep you.
4:7 Wisdom is supreme.
Get wisdom.
Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.
4:8 Esteem her, and she will exalt you.
She will bring you to honor, when you embrace her.
4:9 She will give to your head a garland of grace.
She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”
4:10 Listen, my son, and receive my sayings.
The years of your life will be many.
4:11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom.
I have led you in straight paths.
4:12 When you go, your steps will not be hampered.
When you run, you will not stumble.
4:13 Take firm hold of instruction.
Don’t let her go.
Keep her, for she is your life.
4:14 Don’t enter into the path of the wicked.
Don’t walk in the way of evil men.
4:15 Avoid it, and don’t pass by it.
Turn from it, and pass on.
4:16 For they don’t sleep, unless they do evil.
Their sleep is taken away, unless they make someone fall.
4:17 For they eat the bread of wickedness,
and drink the wine of violence.
4:18 But the path of the righteous is like the dawning light,
that shines more and more until the perfect day.
4:19 The way of the wicked is like darkness.
They don’t know what they stumble over.
4:20 My son, attend to my words.
Turn your ear to my sayings.
4:21 Let them not depart from your eyes.
Keep them in the midst of your heart.
4:22 For they are life to those who find them,
and health to their whole body.
4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
for out of it is the wellspring of life.
4:24 Put away from yourself a perverse mouth.
Put corrupt lips far from you.
4:25 Let your eyes look straight ahead.
Fix your gaze directly before you.
4:26 Make the path of your feet level.
Let all of your ways be established.
4:27 Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left.
Remove your foot from evil.

Chapitre  4
1 Écoutez, mes fils, l'instruction d'un père, Et soyez attentifs, pour connaître la sagesse; 2 Car je vous donne de bons conseils: Ne rejetez pas mon enseignement. 3 J'étais un fils pour mon père, Un fils tendre et unique auprès de ma mère. 4 Il m'instruisait alors, et il me disait: Que ton coeur retienne mes paroles; Observe mes préceptes, et tu vivras. 5 Acquiers la sagesse, acquiers l'intelligence; N'oublie pas les paroles de ma bouche, et ne t'en détourne pas. 6 Ne l'abandonne pas, et elle te gardera; Aime-la, et elle te protégera. 7 Voici le commencement de la sagesse: Acquiers la sagesse, Et avec tout ce que tu possèdes acquiers l'intelligence. 8 Exalte-la, et elle t'élèvera; Elle fera ta gloire, si tu l'embrasses; 9 Elle mettra sur ta tête une couronne de grâce, Elle t'ornera d'un magnifique diadème. 10 Écoute, mon fils, et reçois mes paroles; Et les années de ta vie se multiplieront. 11 Je te montre la voie de la sagesse, Je te conduis dans les sentiers de la droiture. 12 Si tu marches, ton pas ne sera point gêné; Et si tu cours, tu ne chancelleras point. 13 Retiens l'instruction, ne t'en dessaisis pas; Garde-la, car elle est ta vie. 14 N'entre pas dans le sentier des méchants, Et ne marche pas dans la voie des hommes mauvais. 15 Évite-la, n'y passe point; Détourne-t'en, et passe outre. 16 Car ils ne dormiraient pas s'ils n'avaient fait le mal, Le sommeil leur serait ravi s'ils n'avaient fait tomber personne; 17 Car c'est le pain de la méchanceté qu'ils mangent, C'est le vin de la violence qu'ils boivent. 18 Le sentier des justes est comme la lumière resplendissante, Dont l'éclat va croissant jusqu'au milieu du jour. 19 La voie des méchants est comme les ténèbres; Ils n'aperçoivent pas ce qui les fera tomber. 20 Mon fils, sois attentif à mes paroles, Prête l'oreille à mes discours. 21 Qu'ils ne s'éloignent pas de tes yeux; Garde-les dans le fond de ton coeur; 22 Car c'est la vie pour ceux qui les trouvent, C'est la santé pour tout leur corps. 23 Garde ton coeur plus que toute autre chose, Car de lui viennent les sources de la vie. 24 Écarte de ta bouche la fausseté, Éloigne de tes lèvres les détours. 25 Que tes yeux regardent en face, Et que tes paupières se dirigent devant toi. 26 Considère le chemin par où tu passes, Et que toutes tes voies soient bien réglées; 27 N'incline ni à droite ni à gauche, Et détourne ton pied du mal.
