Chapitre  29

1 Izay olona anarina matetika ka mihamafy hatoka Dia ho torotoro tampoka, ka tsy hisy fahasitranana.

2 Raha mihamaro ny marina, dia faly ny vahoaka; Fa raha ny ratsy fanahy no manapaka, dia misento kosa izy.

3 Izay tia fahendrena no mahafaly ny rainy; Fa izay misakaiza amin'ny vehivavy janga dia mandany harena.

4 Ny rariny no ampandrian'ny mpanjaka ny tany; Fa izay mandray tambitamby* no mandrava azy kosa.[Na: mampandoa harena]

5 Izay olona mandrobo ny namany Dia mamela-pandrika ny tongony.

6 Misy fandrika amin'ny heloky ny olon-dratsy; Fa ny marina mihoby sy mifaly.

7 Ny marina mihevitra ny adin'ny malahelo; Fa ny ratsy fanahy tsy hahalala fahendrena.

8 Ny mpaniratsira mampihotakotaka* ny tanàna; Fa ny hendry mampionona fahatezerana.[Heb. mampirehitra]

11 Ny fahatezeran'ny adala dia avoakany avokoa; Fa ny hendry kosa manindry fo.

12 Raha mihaino lainga ny mpanapaka, Dia ho ratsy fanahy ny mpanompony rehetra.

13 Mihaona ny malahelo sy ny mpampahory*; Jehovah no manazava ny mason'izy roa tonta.[Na: mpampanana vola]

14 Izay mpanjaka mitsara marina ny malahelo, Dia haharitra mandrakizay ny seza fiandrianany.

15 Ny tsorakazo sy ny anatra no manome fahendrena; Fa ny zaza aranana mampahamenatra ny reniny.

16 Raha maro ny ratsy fanahy, dia mitombo ny ota; Fa ny marina ho faly mahita ny fahalavoany.

17 Faizo ny zanakao, dia ho famelombelomana ny fonao izy Sy ho fifalian'ny fanahinao.

18 Raha tsy misy fahitana, dia atondraka hanaram-po amin'izay tsy mety ny olona; Fa raha mitandrina ny lalàna kosa izy, dia sambatra.

19 Raha teny fotsiny ihany, dia tsy ampy hananarana ny mpanompo; Fa na dia fantany aza, tsy hankatoaviny*.[Heb. tsy misy valiny]

20 Hitanao va ny olona faingam-bava? Ny adala aza misy hantenaina kokoa noho izy.

21 Ny mpanompo izay nampihantaina hatry ny fony mbola kely Dia hihambo ho zanaka any am-parany.

22 Ny olona mora tezitra manetsika ady; Ary ny olona masiaka dia be fahadisoana.

23 Ny fiavonavonan'ny olona no hampietry azy; Fa hahazo voninahitra kosa ny manetry tena.

24 Izay miray tetika amin'ny mpangalatra dia manary tena; Mandre ny fampianianana izy, nefa tsy mety milaza.

25 Mamandrika ny tahotra olona; Fa izay matoky an'i Jehovah no hovonjena*.[Heb. hatao amin'ny avo]

26 Maro no mila sitraka amin*'ny mpanapaka; Fa avy amin'i Jehovah ny fitsarana ny olona.[Heb. mitady ny tavan']

27 Ny meloka dia fahavetavetana eo imason'ny marina; Ary ny mahitsy lalana dia mba fahavetavetana eo imason'ny ratsy fanahy kosa.

Chapitre  29
29:1 He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck
will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.
29:2 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice;
but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
29:3 Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father;
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
29:4 The king by justice makes the land stable,
but he who takes bribes tears it down.
29:5 A man who flatters his neighbor
spreads a net for his feet.
29:6 An evil man is snared by his sin,
but the righteous can sing and be glad.
29:7 The righteous care about justice for the poor.
The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge.
29:8 Mockers stir up a city,
but wise men turn away anger.
29:9 If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man,
the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace.
29:10 The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity;
and they seek the life of the upright.
29:11 A fool vents all of his anger,
but a wise man brings himself under control.
29:12 If a ruler listens to lies,
all of his officials are wicked.
29:13 The poor man and the oppressor have this in common:
Yahweh gives sight to the eyes of both.
29:14 The king who fairly judges the poor,
his throne shall be established forever.
29:15 The rod of correction gives wisdom,
but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.
29:16 When the wicked increase, sin increases;
but the righteous will see their downfall.
29:17 Correct your son, and he will give you peace;
yes, he will bring delight to your soul.
29:18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
but one who keeps the law is blessed.
29:19 A servant can’t be corrected by words.
Though he understands, yet he will not respond.
29:20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his words?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
29:21 He who pampers his servant from youth
will have him become a son in the end.
29:22 An angry man stirs up strife,
and a wrathful man abounds in sin.
29:23 A man’s pride brings him low,
but one of lowly spirit gains honor.
29:24 Whoever is an accomplice of a thief is an enemy of his own soul.
He takes an oath, but dares not testify.
29:25 The fear of man proves to be a snare,
but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe.
29:26 Many seek the ruler’s favor,
but a man’s justice comes from Yahweh.
29:27 A dishonest man detests the righteous,
and the upright in their ways detest the wicked.

1 Un homme qui mérite d'être repris, et qui raidit le cou, Sera brisé subitement et sans remède. 2 Quand les justes se multiplient, le peuple est dans la joie; Quand le méchant domine, le peuple gémit. 3 Un homme qui aime la sagesse réjouit son père, Mais celui qui fréquente des prostituées dissipe son bien. 4 Un roi affermit le pays par la justice, Mais celui qui reçoit des présents le ruine. 5 Un homme qui flatte son prochain Tend un filet sous ses pas. 6 Il y a un piège dans le péché de l'homme méchant, Mais le juste triomphe et se réjouit. 7 Le juste connaît la cause des pauvres, Mais le méchant ne comprend pas la science. 8 Les moqueurs soufflent le feu dans la ville, Mais les sages calment la colère. 9 Si un homme sage conteste avec un insensé, Il aura beau se fâcher ou rire, la paix n'aura pas lieu. 10 Les hommes de sang haïssent l'homme intègre, Mais les hommes droits protègent sa vie. 11 L'insensé met en dehors toute sa passion, Mais le sage la contient. 12 Quand celui qui domine a égard aux paroles mensongères, Tous ses serviteurs sont des méchants. 13 Le pauvre et l'oppresseur se rencontrent; C'est l'Éternel qui éclaire les yeux de l'un et de l'autre. 14 Un roi qui juge fidèlement les pauvres Aura son trône affermi pour toujours. 15 La verge et la correction donnent la sagesse, Mais l'enfant livré à lui-même fait honte à sa mère. 16 Quand les méchants se multiplient, le péché s'accroît; Mais les justes contempleront leur chute. 17 Châtie ton fils, et il te donnera du repos, Et il procurera des délices à ton âme. 18 Quand il n'y a pas de révélation, le peuple est sans frein; Heureux s'il observe la loi! 19 Ce n'est pas par des paroles qu'on châtie un esclave; Même s'il comprend, il n'obéit pas. 20 Si tu vois un homme irréfléchi dans ses paroles, Il y a plus à espérer d'un insensé que de lui. 21 Le serviteur qu'on traite mollement dès l'enfance Finit par se croire un fils. 22 Un homme colère excite des querelles, Et un furieux commet beaucoup de péchés. 23 L'orgueil d'un homme l'abaisse, Mais celui qui est humble d'esprit obtient la gloire. 24 Celui qui partage avec un voleur est ennemi de son âme; Il entend la malédiction, et il ne déclare rien. 25 La crainte des hommes tend un piège, Mais celui qui se confie en l'Éternel est protégé. 26 Beaucoup de gens recherchent la faveur de celui qui domine, Mais c'est l'Éternel qui fait droit à chacun. 27 L'homme inique est en abomination aux justes, Et celui dont la voie est droite est en abomination aux méchants.
