Chapitre 21

3 Ary nomen-drainy harena betsaka ireo, dia volafotsy sy volamena ary zava-tsoa mbamin'ny tanàna sasany mimanda tany Joda; fa ny fanjakana kosa dia nomeny an'i Jehorama, satria izy no lahimatoa.

4 Ary raha vao nanjaka tamin'ny fanjakan'ny rainy Jehorama, dia nitombo hery izy ka namono ny rahalahiny rehetra mbamin'ny mpanapaka sasany tamin'ny Isiraely koa tamin'ny sabatra.

5 Roa amby telo-polo taona Jehorama, fony izy vao nanjaka, ary valo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema.

6 Ary nandeha tamin'ny lalan'ny mpanjakan'ny Isiraely izy, dia tahaka ny nataon'ny taranak'i Ahaba fa zanakavavin'i Ahaba no vadiny, eny, nanao izay ratsy eo imason'i Jehovah izy.

7 Nefa Jehovah tsy nety nandringana ny taranak'i Davida noho ny fanekena nataony tamin'i Davida sy ny nilazany fa homeny jiro mandrakizay izy mbamin'ny taranany.

8 Tamin'ny andron'i Jehorama no niodinan'ny Edomita ka tsy nanoa ny Joda, fa nanangana mpanjaka ho azy izy.

9 Ka dia nivoaka Jehorama sy ireo mpanjaka nitondra ny kalesiny rehetra; ary nanaovany latsak'alina ny Edomita izay nanodidina azy sy ny komandin'ny kalesy.

10 Nefa ny Edomita mbola niodina ka tsy nanoa ny Joda ihany ambaraka androany. Ary tamin'izany andro izany Libna koa niodina tsy nety nanoa an'i Jehorama, satria efa nahafoy an'i Jehovah, Andriamanitra ny razany, izy.

11 Ary nanao fitoerana avo teny an-tendrombohitr'i Joda koa izy sady nampijangajanga ny mponina tany Jerosalema ary nitaona ny Joda mangingina hanao izany.

12 Ary nisy taratasy avy tamin'i Elia mpaminany tonga tao aminy nanao hoe: Izao no lazain'i Jehovah, Andriamanitr'i Davida rainao: Noho ny tsy nandehananao tamin'ny lalan'i Josafata rainao, na ny lalan'i Asa, mpanjakan'ny Joda,

13 fa nandeha tamin'ny lalan'ny mpanjakan'ny Isiraely kosa ianao ka nampijangajanga ny Joda sy ny mponina any Jerosalema toy ny fijangajangan'ny taranak'i Ahaba, sady novonoinao koa ny rahalahinao nateraky ny rainao, izay tsara noho ianao,

14 dia, indro, hasian'i Jehovah areti-mandringana ny vahoakanao sy ny zanakao sy ireo vadinao mbamin'ny biby fiompinao rehetra;

15 ary ianao koa ho azon'ny aretina mafy, dia aretina amin'ny tsinainao, mandra-pialàlan'ny tsinainao isan'andro isan'andro noho ny aretina.

16 Ary Jehovah namporisika ny Filistina sy ny Arabo izay ao akaikin'ny Etiopiana hamely an'i Jehorama;

17 ary niakatra tany Joda ireo ka nisesika tao, dia nobaboiny ny fananana rehetra izay an'ny ankohonan'ny mpanjaka mbamin'ny zanany sy ny vadiny koa, ka tsy nisy zanany intsony, afa-tsy Joahaza faralahiny ihany.

18 Ary nony afaka izany rehetra izany, dia nasian'i Jehovah aretina tsy azo sitranina tamin'ny tsinainy izy.

19 Ary rehefa ela, nony afaka roa taona, dia nialàla ny tsinainy azon'ny aretiny; ka dia maty tamin'ny fangirifiriana mafy izy. Ary ny vahoakany tsy mba nandoro zavatra ho fisaonana azy toy ny nataony tamin'ny razany.

20 Roa amby telo-polo taona izy, fony vao nanjaka, ary valo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema; koa lasa tsy nisy nalahelo azy izy. Ary nalevina tao an-Tanànan'i Davida ihany izy, nefa tsy mba tao amin'ny fasan'ny mpanjaka.

Chapitre 21

21:1 Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Jehoram his son reigned in his place. 21:2 He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel. 21:3 Their father gave them great gifts, of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn. 21:4 Now when Jehoram was risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and various also of the princes of Israel. 21:5 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. 21:6 He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab as wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh. 21:7 However Yahweh would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always. 21:8 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves. 21:9 Then Jehoram passed over with his captains, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and struck the Edomites who surrounded him, along with the captains of the chariots. 21:10 So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day: then Libnah revolted at the same time from under his hand, because he had forsaken Yahweh, the God of his fathers. 21:11 Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, and led Judah astray. 21:12 A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of David your father, ‘Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah, 21:13 but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, like the house of Ahab did, and also have slain your brothers of your father’s house, who were better than yourself: 21:14 behold, Yahweh will strike with a great plague your people, and your children, and your wives, and all your substance; 21:15 and you shall have great sickness by disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.’”

21:16 Yahweh stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians: 21:17 and they came up against Judah, and broke into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons. 21:18 After all this Yahweh struck him in his bowels with an incurable disease. 21:19 It happened, in process of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of severe diseases. His people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers. 21:20 Thirty-two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years: and he departed without being desired; and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

Chapitre 21

1 Josaphat se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David. Et Joram, son fils, régna à sa place. 2 Joram avait des frères, fils de Josaphat: Azaria, Jehiel, Zacharie, Azaria, Micaël et Schephathia, tous fils de Josaphat, roi d'Israël. 3 Leur père leur avait donné des présents considérables en argent, en or, et en objets précieux, avec des villes fortes en Juda; mais il laissa le royaume à Joram, parce qu'il était le premier-né. 4 Lorsque Joram eut pris possession du royaume de son père et qu'il se fut fortifié, il fit mourir par l'épée tous ses frères et quelques-uns aussi des chefs d'Israël. 5 Joram avait trente-deux ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna huit ans à Jérusalem. 6 Il marcha dans la voie des rois d'Israël, comme avait fait la maison d'Achab, car il avait pour femme une fille d'Achab, et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel. 7 Mais l'Éternel ne voulut point détruire la maison de David, à cause de l'alliance qu'il avait traitée avec David et de la promesse qu'il avait faite de lui donner toujours une lampe, à lui et à ses fils. 8 De son temps, Édom se révolta contre l'autorité de Juda, et se donna un roi. 9 Joram partit avec ses chefs et tous ses chars; s'étant levé de nuit, il battit les Édomites qui l'entouraient et les chefs des chars. 10 La rébellion d'Édom contre l'autorité de Juda a duré jusqu'à ce jour. Libna se révolta dans le même temps contre son autorité, parce qu'il avait abandonné l'Éternel, le Dieu de ses pères. 11 Joram fit même des hauts lieux dans les montagnes de Juda; il poussa les habitants de Jérusalem à la prostitution, et il séduisit Juda. 12 Il lui vint un écrit du prophète Élie, disant: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu de David, ton père: Parce que tu n'as pas marché dans les voies de Josaphat, ton père, et dans les voies d'Asa, roi de Juda, 13 mais que tu as marché dans la voie des rois d'Israël; parce que tu as entraîné à la prostitution Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem, comme l'a fait la maison d'Achab à l'égard d'Israël; et parce que tu as fait mourir tes frères, meilleurs que toi, la maison même de ton père; - 14 voici, l'Éternel frappera ton peuple d'une grande plaie, tes fils, tes femmes, et tout ce qui t'appartient; 15 et toi, il te frappera d'une maladie violente, d'une maladie d'entrailles, qui augmentera de jour en jour jusqu'à ce que tes entrailles sortent par la force du mal. 16 Et l'Éternel excita contre Joram l'esprit des Philistins et des Arabes qui sont dans le voisinage des Éthiopiens. 17 Ils montèrent contre Juda, y firent une invasion, pillèrent toutes les richesses qui se trouvaient dans la maison du roi, et emmenèrent ses fils et ses femmes, de sorte qu'il ne lui resta d'autre fils que Joachaz, le plus jeune de ses fils. 18 Après tout cela, l'Éternel le frappa d'une maladie d'entrailles qui était sans remède; 19 elle augmenta de jour en jour, et sur la fin de la seconde année les entrailles de Joram sortirent par la force de son mal. Il mourut dans de violentes souffrances; et son peuple ne brûla point de parfums en son honneur, comme il l'avait fait pour ses pères. 20 Il avait trente-deux ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna huit ans à Jérusalem. Il s'en alla sans être regretté, et on l'enterra dans la ville de David, mais non dans les sépulcres des rois.
