Chapitre 16

1 [Ny nanambazan'i Asa an'i Beni-hadada, mpanjakan'i Syria, hanampy azy hiady amin'i Basa, mpanjakan'ny Isiraely, sy ny nananaran'i Sanany mpaminany azy noho izany, ary ny nahafatesan'i Asa] Tamin'ny taona fahenina amby telo-polo nanjakan'i Asa dia niakatra Basa, mpanjakan'ny Isiraely, hamely ny Joda, ka nanamboatra an'i Rama izy mba tsy hisy hahazo hivoaka na hiditra ho an'i Asa, mpanjakan'ny Joda.

2 Ary Asa namoaka volafotsy sy volamena avy tamin'ny rakitry ny tranon'i Jehovah sy ny tranon'ny mpanjaka, dia nampitondra azy tany amin'i Beni-hadada, mpanjakan'i Syria, izay nitoetra tany Damaskosy, ka nanao hoe:

3 Misy* fanekena amiko sy aminao, dia ilay tamin'ny raiko sy ny rainao; koa, indro, mampanatitra volafotsy sy volamena ho anao aho, ka andeha, tsoahy ny fanekenao amin'i Basa, mpanjakan'ny Isiraely, mba hialany amiko. [Na: Aoka hisy]

4 Ary Beni-hadada nanaiky ny tenin'i Asa mpanjaka ka naniraka ireo komandin'ny miaramilany hamely ny tanànan'ny Isiraely; dia nandrava an'Iona sy Dana sy Abela-maima ary ny trano fitehirizana rehetra izay teny amin'ny tanànan'ny Naftaly izy.

5 Ary nony ren'i Basa izany, dia nitsahatra tsy nanamboatra an'i Rama intsony izy, fa natsahany ny asany.

6 Ary Asa mpanjaka namory ny Joda rehetra; ary dia nesorin'ny olona ny vato sy ny hazo tao Rama, izay naorin'i Basa, ka nentiny nanamboatra an'i Geba sy Mizpa.

7 Ary tamin'izany andro izany dia nankeo amin'i Asa, mpanjakan'ny Joda, Hanany mpahita ka nanao taminy hoe: Noho ny niankinanao tamin'ny mpanjakan'i Syria fa tsy niankina tamin'i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao, dia afa-nandositra ny tananao ny miaramilan'ny mpanjakan'i Syria.

8 Tsy maro be va ny Etiopiana sy ny Lobita, ary tsy maro be koa va ny kalesiny sy ny mpitaingin-tsoavaliny? Nefa noho ny niankinanao tamin'i Jehovah, dia natolony teo an-tananao ireo.

9 Fa ny mason'i Jehovah mijery eny tontolo eny eran'ny tany rehetra, mba hisehoany aman-kery hamonjy izay manana fo mahitsy aminy. Adala ianao tamin'izany, ka dia hisy ady hahazo anao hatramin'izao.

10 Dia tezitra tamin'ilay mpahita Asa ka nanao azy tao an-trano-maizina; fa nisafoaka aminy indrindra izy noho izany. Ary ny olona sasany koa dia nampahorin'i Asa tamin'izay.

11 Ary, indro, ny tantaran'i Asa, na ny voalohany na ny farany, dia efa voasoratra ao amin'ny bokin'ny mpanjakan'ny Joda sy ny Isiraely.

12 Tamin'ny taona fahasivy amby telo-polo nanjakan'i Asa dia narary tamin'ny tongony izy, ka nihamafy indrindra ny aretiny; nefa na dia narary aza izy, dia tsy nitady an'i Jehovah, fa ny mpanao fanafody ihany.

13 Ary Asa lasa nodi-mandry any amin'ny razany; maty izy tamin'ny taona fahiraika amby efa-polo nanjakany.

14 Dia nalevina tao amin'ny fasany ihany izy, izay nolavahany tao an-Tanànan'i Davida, ka nampandrina teo amin'ny fandriana efa nofenoina zava-manitra samy hafa voaharoharo araka ny fanaon'ny mpangaroharo zava-manitra, ary nandoroany zavatra betsaka ho fisaonana azy.

Chapitre 16

16:1 In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. 16:2 Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of Yahweh and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying, 16:3 “Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”

16:4 Ben Hadad listened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali. 16:5 It happened, when Baasha heard of it, that he left off building Ramah, and let his work cease. 16:6 Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah. 16:7 At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Yahweh your God, therefore is the army of the king of Syria escaped out of your hand. 16:8 Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and horsemen exceeding many? Yet, because you relied on Yahweh, he delivered them into your hand. 16:9 For the eyes of Yahweh run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly; for from henceforth you shall have wars.”

16:10 Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time. 16:11 Behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. 16:12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet; his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he didn’t seek Yahweh, but to the physicians. 16:13 Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign. 16:14 They buried him in his own tombs, which he had dug out for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.

Chapitre 16

1 La trente-sixième année du règne d'Asa, Baescha, roi d'Israël, monta contre Juda; et il bâtit Rama, pour empêcher ceux d'Asa, roi de Juda, de sortir et d'entrer. 2 Asa sortit de l'argent et de l'or des trésors de la maison de l'Éternel et de la maison du roi, et il envoya des messagers vers Ben-Hadad, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas. 3 Il lui fit dire: Qu'il y ait une alliance entre moi et toi, comme il y en eut une entre mon père et ton père. Voici, je t'envoie de l'argent et de l'or. Va, romps ton alliance avec Baescha, roi d'Israël, afin qu'il s'éloigne de moi. 4 Ben-Hadad écouta le roi Asa; il envoya les chefs de son armée contre les villes d'Israël, et ils frappèrent Ijjon, Dan, Abel-Maïm, et tous les magasins des villes de Nephthali. 5 Lorsque Baescha l'apprit, il cessa de bâtir Rama et interrompit ses travaux. 6 Le roi Asa occupa tout Juda à emporter les pierres et le bois que Baescha employait à la construction de Rama, et il s'en servit pour bâtir Guéba et Mitspa. 7 Dans ce temps-là, Hanani, le voyant, alla auprès d'Asa, roi de Juda, et lui dit: Parce que tu t'es appuyé sur le roi de Syrie et que tu ne t'es pas appuyé sur l'Éternel, ton Dieu, l'armée du roi de Syrie s'est échappée de tes mains. 8 Les Éthiopiens et les Libyens ne formaient-ils pas une grande armée, avec des chars et une multitude de cavaliers? Et cependant l'Éternel les a livrés entre tes mains, parce que tu t'étais appuyé sur lui. 9 Car l'Éternel étend ses regards sur toute la terre, pour soutenir ceux dont le coeur est tout entier à lui. Tu as agi en insensé dans cette affaire, car dès à présent tu auras des guerres. 10 Asa fut irrité contre le voyant, et il le fit mettre en prison, parce qu'il était en colère contre lui. Et dans le même temps Asa opprima aussi quelques-uns du peuple. 11 Les actions d'Asa, les premières et les dernières, sont écrites dans le livre des rois de Juda et d'Israël. 12 La trente-neuvième année de son règne, Asa eut les pieds malades au point d'éprouver de grandes souffrances; même pendant sa maladie, il ne chercha pas l'Éternel, mais il consulta les médecins. 13 Asa se coucha avec ses pères, et il mourut la quarante et unième année de son règne; 14 on l'enterra dans le sépulcre qu'il s'était creusé dans la ville de David. On le coucha sur un lit qu'on avait garni d'aromates et de parfums préparés selon l'art du parfumeur, et l'on en brûla en son honneur une quantité très considérable.
