Chapitre 4

2 amin'ny fihatsaram-belatsihin'ny mpilaza lainga, ka voapetaky ny vy mahamay ny fieritreretany,

3 izay mandrara tsy hanam-bady, ary mampifady hanina, izay nataon'Andriamanitra ho an'izay mino sady mahalala ny marina, mba horaisiny amin'ny fisaorana.

4 Fa ny zavatra rehetra nataon'Andriamanitra dia tsara avokoa, ka tsy misy tokony holavina, raha raisina amin'ny fisaorana,

5 satria hamasinin'ny tenin'Andriamanitra sy ny fivavahana izany.

6 Raha manoro hevitra ny rahalahy ny amin'izany zavatra izany ianao, dia ho mpanompo tsara an'i Kristy Jesosy, tezaina amin'ny tenin'ny finoana sy ny fampianarana tsara izay efa narahinao.

7 Fa ny anganongano ratsy fanaom-bavy antitra dia lavo, ka mampiasà ny tenanao ho amin'ny toe-panahy araka an'Andriamanitra.

8 Fa mahasoa kely ihany ny fampiasana ny tena; fa ny toe-panahy araka an'Andriamanitra no mahasoa amin'ny zavatra rehetra ka manana ny teny fikasana ny amin'ny fiainana ankehitriny sy ny ho avy koa.

9 Mahatoky izao teny izao ka tokony hekena amin'ny fankasitrahana rehetra.

10 Fa izany no ikelezanay aina sy iezahanay, satria izahay manantena an'Andriamanitra velona, Izay Mpamonjy ny olona rehetra, indrindra fa izay mino.

11 Izany zavatra izany no andidio sy ampianaro.

12 Aoka tsy hisy olona hanao tsinontsinona anao noho ny hatanoranao; fa aoka ho tonga fianarana ho an'ny mino ianao amin'ny fiteny, amin'ny fitondran-tena, amin'ny fitiavana, amin'ny finoana, amin'ny fahadiovana.

13 Mandra-pihaviko tandremo ny famakian-teny, ny fananarana, ny fampianarana.

14 Aza tsy mitandrina ny fanomezam-pahasoavana izay ao anatinao, izay nomena anao tamin'ny faminaniana sy ny fametrahan-tànan'ny loholona*. [* Gr. presbytera]

15 Mazotoa hihevitra izany zavatra izany, dia mikeleza aina fatratra amin'izany, mba hiseho amin'ny olona rehetra ny fandrosoanao.

16 Tandremo ny tenanao sy ny fampianaranao, ka mahareta amin'izany; fa raha manao izany ianao, dia hamonjy ny tenanao sy izay mihaino anao.

Chapitre 4 

4:1 But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, 4:2 through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; 4:3 forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. 4:5 For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. 4:6 If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed. 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise yourself toward godliness. 4:8 For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come. 4:9 This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance. 4:10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 4:11 Command and teach these things.

4:12 Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. 4:13 Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching. 4:14 Don’t neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders. 4:15 Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all. 4:16 Pay attention to yourself, and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Chapitre 4 
1 Mais l'Esprit dit expressément que, dans les derniers temps, quelques-uns abandonneront la foi, pour s'attacher à des esprits séducteurs et à des doctrines de démons, 2 par l'hypocrisie de faux docteurs portant la marque de la flétrissure dans leur propre conscience, 3 prescrivant de ne pas se marier, et de s'abstenir d'aliments que Dieu a créés pour qu'ils soient pris avec actions de grâces par ceux qui sont fidèles et qui ont connu la vérité. 4 Car tout ce que Dieu a créé est bon, et rien ne doit être rejeté, pourvu qu'on le prenne avec actions de grâces, 5 parce que tout est sanctifié par la parole de Dieu et par la prière. 6 En exposant ces choses aux frères, tu seras un bon ministre de Jésus Christ, nourri des paroles de la foi et de la bonne doctrine que tu as exactement suivie. 7 Repousse les contes profanes et absurdes. (4:8) Exerce-toi à la piété; 8 car l'exercice corporel est utile à peu de chose, tandis que la piété est utile à tout, ayant la promesse de la vie présente et de celle qui est à venir. 9 C'est là une parole certaine et entièrement digne d'être reçue. 10 Nous travaillons, en effet, et nous combattons, parce que nous mettons notre espérance dans le Dieu vivant, qui est le Sauveur de tous les hommes, principalement des croyants. 11 Déclare ces choses, et enseigne-les. 12 Que personne ne méprise ta jeunesse; mais sois un modèle pour les fidèles, en parole, en conduite, en charité, en foi, en pureté. 13 Jusqu'à ce que je vienne, applique-toi à la lecture, à l'exhortation, à l'enseignement. 14 Ne néglige pas le don qui est en toi, et qui t'a été donné par prophétie avec l'imposition des mains de l'assemblée des anciens. 15 Occupe-toi de ces choses, donne-toi tout entier à elles, afin que tes progrès soient évidents pour tous. 16 Veille sur toi-même et sur ton enseignement; persévère dans ces choses, car, en agissant ainsi, tu te sauveras toi-même, et tu sauveras ceux qui t'écoutent.
