Chapitre 14

8 [Ny nandresen'i Davida ny Filistina] Koa nony ren'ny Filistina fa efa nohosorana ho mpanjakan'ny Isiraely rehetra Davida, dia niakatra hitady azy ny Filistina rehetra. Koa raha ren'i Davida izany, dia nivoaka hiady taminy izy.

9 Ary dia tonga ny Filistina ka nihahakahaka teny amin'ny Lohasahan'ny Refaita.

10 Ary Davida nanontany tamin'Andriamanitra hoe: Hiakatra hamely ny Filistina va aho? Hatolotrao eo an-tanako va izy? Dia hoy Jehovah taminy: Miakara, fa hatolotro eo an-tananao izy.

11 Dia niakatra nankao Bala-perazima Davida ka namely azy teo; dia hoy izy: Ny tanako no namakian'Andriamanitra ny fahavaloko hipariaka toy ny rano vaky; koa izany no nanaovany ny anaran'izany tany izany hoe Bala-perazima*.[Bala-perazima = Tany nahavakiana]

12 Dia nilaozan'ireny teo ireo andriamaniny, ka dia nasain'i Davida nodorana tamin'ny afo.

13 Ary tonga indray ny Filistina ka nihahakahaka teny an-dohasaha indray.

14 Dia nanontany tamin'Andriamanitra indray Davida ka novaliany hoe: Aza mandeha hanenjika azy; fa mivilia azy, dia mandehana, fa ho tonga eo aminy ianao eo amin'ny tandrifin'ny hazo balsama.

15 Ary raha toa mahare fingadongadon'olona eny amin'ny tendron'ny hazo balsama ianao, dia miaingà amin'izay hiady; fa amin'izay no efa miainga mialoha anao Andriamanitra hamely ny miaramilan'ny Filistina.

16 Ary dia nanao araka izay nandidian'Andriamanitra azy Davida, ka dia namely ny miaramilan'ny Filistina hatrany Gibeona ka hatrany Gazera izy.

17 Ary ny lazan'i Davida niely teny amin'ny tany rehetra; ary nataon'i Jehovah nahazo ny firenena rehetra ny tahotra an'i Davida.

Chapitre 14

1 Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house. 2 David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, for his people Israel’s sake.

3 David took more wives at Jerusalem; and David became the father of more sons and daughters.

4 These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

5 and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,

6 and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

7 and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.

8 When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went out against them.

9 Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim. 10 David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?”

Yahweh said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”

11 So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there; and David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

12 They left their gods there; and David gave commandment, and they were burned with fire.

13 The Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley.

14 David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them over against the mulberry trees.

15 It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”

16 David did as God commanded him: and they struck the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.

17 The fame of David went out into all lands; and Yahweh brought the fear of him on all nations.

Chapitre 14
1 Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya des messagers à David, et du bois de cèdre, et des tailleurs de pierres et des charpentiers, pour lui bâtir une maison.

2 David reconnut que l'Éternel l'affermissait comme roi d'Israël, et que son royaume était haut élevé, à cause de son peuple d'Israël.

3 David prit encore des femmes à Jérusalem, et il engendra encore des fils et des filles.

4 Voici les noms de ceux qui lui naquirent à Jérusalem: Schammua, Schobab, Nathan, Salomon,

5 Jibhar, Élischua, Elphéleth,

6 Noga, Népheg, Japhia,

7 Élischama, Beéliada et Éliphéleth.

8 Les Philistins apprirent que David avait été oint pour roi sur tout Israël, et ils montèrent tous à sa recherche. David, qui en fut informé, sortit au-devant d'eux.

9 Les Philistins arrivèrent, et se répandirent dans la vallée des Rephaïm.

10 David consulta Dieu, en disant: Monterai-je contre les Philistins, et les livreras-tu entre mes mains? Et l'Éternel lui dit: Monte, et je les livrerai entre tes mains.

11 Ils montèrent à Baal-Peratsim, où David les battit. Puis il dit: Dieu a dispersé mes ennemis par ma main, comme des eaux qui s'écoulent. C'est pourquoi l'on a donné à ce lieu le nom de Baal-Peratsim.

12 Ils laissèrent là leurs dieux, qui furent brûlés au feu d'après l'ordre de David.

13 Les Philistins se répandirent de nouveau dans la vallée.

14 David consulta encore Dieu. Et Dieu lui dit: Tu ne monteras pas après eux; détourne-toi d'eux, et tu arriveras sur eux vis-à-vis des mûriers.

15 Quand tu entendras un bruit de pas dans les cimes des mûriers, alors tu sortiras pour combattre, car c'est Dieu qui marche devant toi pour battre l'armée des Philistins.

16 David fit ce que Dieu lui avait ordonné, et l'armée des Philistins fut battue depuis Gabaon jusqu'à Guézer.

17 La renommée de David se répandit dans tous les pays, et l'Éternel le rendit redoutable à toutes les nations.
