Chapitre 5

2 Ary nony efa azon'ny Filistina ny fiaran'Andriamanitra, dia nentiny tao an-tranon'i Dagona izy ka napetrany teo anilany.

3 Ary nony ampitson'iny dia nifoha maraina koa ny Asdodita, ka indro Dagona potraka niankohoka tamin'ny tany teo anoloan'ny fiaran'i Jehovah; dia narenin'ny olona izy ka napetrany teo amin'ny fitoerany indray.

4 Ary nony ampitson'iny indray dia nifoha maraina koa ny olona, ka indro Dagona potraka niankohoka indray tamin'ny tany teo anoloan'ny fiaran'i Jehovah, ary tapaka teo amin'ny tokonam-baravarana ny lohan'i Dagona sy ny felatanany roa; fa ny tenabeny ihany no sisa

7 Ary rehefa hitan'ny mponina tao Asdoda fa nisy izany, dia hoy izy: Aza avela hitoetra eto amintsika ny fiaran'ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely; fa mavesatra amintsika sy amin'i Dagona andriamanitsika ny tànany.

8 Dia naniraka olona izy ka nanangona ireo andriana rehetra tamin'ny Filistina hankeo aminy ka nanao hoe: Hataontsika ahoana ny fiaran'ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely? Dia hoy ireo: Aoka hafindra hankany Gata ny fiaran'ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely. Dia nafindrany ny fiaran'ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely.

9 Ary rehefa voafindrany ny fiara, dia namely ny tanàna ny tànan'i Jehovah ka nampangorohoro azy indrindra, fa Izy namely ny mponina tao an-tanàna, na kely na lehibe, ka nisy vay nipoipoitra taminy.

10 Ary dia naterin'ny olona nankany Ekrona ny fiaran'Andriamanitra. Ary raha vao tonga tany Ekrona ny fiaran'Andriamanitra, dia nitaraina ny Ekronita nanao hoe: Efa nafindran'ny olona ho atỳ amintsika ny fiaran'ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely hahafaty antsika sy ny firenentsika.

11 Dia naniraka olona izy ka nanangona ireo andriana rehetra tamin'ny Filistina ka nanao hoe: Ampandehano ny fiaran'ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, ary aoka ho entina ho any amin'ny fitoerany ihany indray izy mba tsy hahafaty antsika sy ny firenentsika; fa nanerana ny tanàna ny horohoron'ny fahafatesana, fa navesatra indrindra tao ny tànan'Andriamanitra.

12 Ary ny olona izay tsy maty dia voan'ny vay kosa, ka ny fitarainan'ny tao an-tanàna dia niakatra ho any an-danitra.

Chapitre 5

5:1 Now the Philistines had taken the ark of God, and they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. 5:2 The Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. 5:3 When they of Ashdod arose early on the next day, behold, Dagon was fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of Yahweh. They took Dagon, and set him in his place again. 5:4 When they arose early on the next day morning, behold, Dagon was fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of Yahweh; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off on the threshold. Only Dagon’s torso was intact. 5:5 Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any who come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod, to this day. 5:6 But the hand of Yahweh was heavy on them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and struck them with tumors, even Ashdod and its borders.

5:7 When the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel shall not stay with us; for his hand is severe on us, and on Dagon our god.” 5:8 They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines to them, and said, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?”

They answered, “Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried over to Gath.” They carried the ark of the God of Israel there. 5:9 It was so, that after they had carried it about, the hand of Yahweh was against the city with a very great confusion: and he struck the men of the city, both small and great; and tumors broke out on them. 5:10 So they sent the ark of God to Ekron.

It happened, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, “They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to kill us and our people.” 5:11 They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and they said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to its own place, that it not kill us and our people.” For there was a deadly confusion throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there. 5:12 The men who didn’t die were struck with the tumors; and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

1 Les Philistins prirent l'arche de Dieu, et ils la transportèrent d'Ében-Ézer à Asdod. 2 Après s'être emparés de l'arche de Dieu, les Philistins la firent entrer dans la maison de Dagon et la placèrent à côté de Dagon. 3 Le lendemain, les Asdodiens, qui s'étaient levés de bon matin, trouvèrent Dagon étendu la face contre terre, devant l'arche de l'Éternel. Ils prirent Dagon, et le remirent à sa place. 4 Le lendemain encore, s'étant levés de bon matin, ils trouvèrent Dagon étendu la face contre terre, devant l'arche de l'Éternel; la tête de Dagon et ses deux mains étaient abattues sur le seuil, et il ne lui restait que le tronc. 5 C'est pourquoi jusqu'à ce jour, les prêtres de Dagon et tous ceux qui entrent dans la maison de Dagon à Asdod ne marchent point sur le seuil. 6 La main de l'Éternel s'appesantit sur les Asdodiens, et il mit la désolation parmi eux; il les frappa d'hémorroïdes à Asdod et dans son territoire. 7 Voyant qu'il en était ainsi, les gens d'Asdod dirent: L'arche du Dieu d'Israël ne restera pas chez nous, car il appesantit sa main sur nous et sur Dagon, notre dieu. 8 Et ils firent chercher et assemblèrent auprès d'eux tous les princes des Philistins, et ils dirent: Que ferons-nous de l'arche du Dieu d'Israël? Les princes répondirent: Que l'on transporte à Gath l'arche du Dieu d'Israël. Et l'on y transporta l'arche du Dieu d'Israël. 9 Mais après qu'elle eut été transportée, la main de l'Éternel fut sur la ville, et il y eut une très grande consternation; il frappa les gens de la ville depuis le petit jusqu'au grand, et ils eurent une éruption d'hémorroïdes. 10 Alors ils envoyèrent l'arche de Dieu à Ékron. Lorsque l'arche de Dieu entra dans Ékron, les Ékroniens poussèrent des cris, en disant: On a transporté chez nous l'arche du Dieu d'Israël, pour nous faire mourir, nous et notre peuple! 11 Et ils firent chercher et assemblèrent tous les princes des Philistins, et ils dirent: Renvoyez l'arche du Dieu d'Israël; qu'elle retourne en son lieu, et qu'elle ne nous fasse pas mourir, nous et notre peuple. Car il y avait dans toute la ville une terreur mortelle; la main de Dieu s'y appesantissait fortement. 12 Les gens qui ne mouraient pas étaient frappés d'hémorroïdes, et les cris de la ville montaient jusqu'au ciel.
